About Thresholds....

Where We’ve Been

In 1972 Thresholds began providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.  Originally incorporated in 1975, the Agency was known as Kent Client Services.  The organization’s very first efforts were directed toward placing individuals from institutional settings into community residences and providing Case Management services.  In 1996, the Agency name was proudly changed to Thresholds.

Where We Are

Thresholds continues to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities and their families through the Residential Services and Life Consultation Center Programs.    We currently provide services to approximately 1,100 individuals annually between our two locations in Grand Rapids.  Our Lake Drive office houses our Administrative and Residential Services Programs.  Our Life Consultation Center on Kalamazoo Avenue, houses our Adult Supports Coordination, Adult Foster Care,  Adult Respite Programs, adult outpatient psychiatric services and the OBRA/LINCS Program.
